United Nations Security Council
UNSC

UNSC discusses international peace and security, addressing conflicts and threats to global stability. The council is responsible for maintaining peace, authorizing military action, and fostering diplomatic solutions to crises.

  • The Syrian Civil War has profoundly impacted global disarmament efforts, particularly concerning the use of chemical weapons and conventional arms. Since the conflict erupted in 2011, the humanitarian crisis and the involvement of various state and non-state actors have complicated international disarmament initiatives. The use of chemical weapons has highlighted gaps in existing treaties and enforcement mechanisms, while the proliferation of arms among different factions has exacerbated regional instability. As nations grapple with the implications of this ongoing conflict, understanding its effects on disarmament remains crucial for future security and stability.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO

The UNESCO Council at RACMUN addresses global challenges in education, culture, and science. Delegates collaborate to promote peace, preserve cultural heritage, and advance sustainable development through diplomacy.

  • Day 1: Bridging the Digital Divide in Education

Ensuring equal access to digital technologies and the internet is crucial for modern education. This means providing devices like computers or tablets and reliable internet, especially in underserved areas. Addressing economic barriers, supporting students with disabilities, teaching digital literacy, and forming partnerships with companies and communities can help improve digital infrastructure. By focusing on these areas, we can create a more equitable educational system where all students can succeed in a digital world.

Day 2: Integrating Sustainability into School Curricula

Integrating sustainability into school curricula is essential for preparing students for the future. This involves teaching concepts like environmental stewardship, renewable energy, and sustainable practices across various subjects. Encouraging hands-on projects, supporting eco-friendly initiatives, and forming partnerships with environmental organizations can enhance learning. By focusing on these areas, we can create a more informed and responsible generation that can tackle global sustainability challenges.

The Godfather 'Mafia'

The Godfather 'Mafia' Council at RACMUN investigates the assassination of Governor Leonardo Barone. Delegates are split into detectives and mafia, with detectives seeking to prove the mafia’s guilt and the mafia denying involvement. Through debates, clues, and testimonies, participants must outsmart the other side in a high-stakes game of strategy and deception.

  • Day 1: The Assassination of Leonardo Barone, famous Italian American governor.

Two teams are formed at random. Half and half. Detectives and mafia. The mafia must deny allegations of the murder and detectives must prove it. Chairs will provide the delegates with clues and puzzles to discover the real plot to either use to their advantage. People will be chosen to give testimony based on the clues
